In 1998, the Bureau of Health Education, V.I. Department of Health created the V.I. Diabetes Advisory Council (VIDAC). It serves as the advisory group to the VIDPCP, and meets twice annually. The Council’s primary function is to review and guide the goals and objectives of the VIDPCP and to address the following areas: Public and Professional Education, Public Awareness, Community Organization, Surveillance, Policy, Advocacy, Governance, Quality Assurance & Improvement and the Performance Improvement Process.
